The East Riverfront District is undergoing a major transformation under the guidance of the EDC. Formerly a warehouse and industrial district, the area is being redeveloped with a mixture primarily of residential, commercial, retail and recreational uses along the Detroit River, a major international waterway and connector between the Great Lakes.
