Outdoor Adventure Center Now Open in Downtown Detroit

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) held a ribbon cutting at its new Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) in downtown Detroit in early July to celebrate its grand opening to the public. Located on Detroit’s riverfront in the historic Globe Building with the Dequindre Cut Trail running right through its backyard, the Center brings Michigan’s treasured outdoors downtown.

At the OAC, visitors will learn how the DNR manages state parks, forests, wildlife and fish, as well as have opportunities to climb burr oak trees, step on a real airplane and observe the aquarium operated by the Belle Isle Aquarium.

The DNR’s Outdoor Adventure Center is located at 1801 Atwater Street in Detroit. Visit the OAC website: www.michigan.gov/outdooradventure
