Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit

The Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit (EDC) assists local industrial and commercial enterprises to strengthen and revitalize the city and state economy through a loan program, public infrastructure improvements and other programs. The EDC also manages a number of real estate sites that are available for redevelopment. EDC programs and properties are described in the Business Services and Projects sections of this web site.  Click here to contact us.

Funding for EDC programs comes from a variety of sources including grants, contracts, interest on loans and captured tax increments - increases in property taxes that result from new investments - on approved developments.

The EDC has regularly scheduled meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month. It may also hold special meetings as needed. All meetings are announced by a posting outside the offices of DEGC, Guardian Building, 500 Griswold, Suite 2200, Detroit and at the CAYMC buiding. Check our calendar for updates.
