Neighborhood Development Corporation of Detroit
The EDC established a subsidiary corporation, known as the Neighborhood Development Corporation (NDC), to implement housing and neighborhood programs within qualified blighted or redevelopment areas. The NDC can implement a program to acquire property, construct improvements, and rehabilitate or construct houses for immediate sale pursuant to a project plan approved by the City Concil.
The NDC implemented a residential project on the southeast side of Detroit commonly known as Jefferson Village. The project included acquiring 40 acres of property, relocating residents, demolition, site preperation and rehabilitation of public infrastructure.
The NDC has regularly scheduled meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month. It may also hold special meetings as needed. All meetings are announced by a posting outside the offices of DEGC, Guardian Building, 500 Griswold, Suite 2200, Detroit and at the CAYMC buiding. Check our
calendar for updates.
