Overview of the I-375 Study Process

This project was formally initiated with the issuance of a Request for Proposals (RFP) and selection of a planning and engineering team led by Parsons Brinckerhoff, in cooperation with SmithGroupJJR, Goody Clancy, and E. Austell and Associates. The successful alternatives evaluation process will culminate in a final report that will:

  • Define a vibrant entryway into Downtown Detroit and East Riverfront.
  • Provide a platform to better connect the Entertainment, East Riverfront, Greektown, Stadium, Convention Center, and Eastern Market districts.
  • Identify possible enhancements to pedestrian, non-motorized and transit connectivity in the corridor.
  • Identify partnerships to implement a comprehensive transportation solution.
  • Be consistent with Detroit’s current vision for urban land use and development.
  • Investigate innovative finance and design concepts that will improve the infrastructure condition and determine the value of the residual land.
