Downtown Detroit locations are a compelling option for these local, regional, national, and international firms.
The comprehensive study recommended looking beyond statewide industry targets of Advanced Manufacturing/Alternative Energy/Life Sciences/Transportation Research & Development and intensify outreach to smaller knowledge-based, "creative class" and producer service firms. Areas of Detroit, such as midtown are well suited for these types of firms. They offer the image, access, scale and scope of activity that these firms find attractive.
