Logistics & Distribution

Logistics and Distribution are strong, growing industry sectors in Detroit. Situated on the banks of the Detroit River, an international waterway that connects the Midwest with the Atlantic Ocean, Detroit shares the busiest international trade corridor in the world with Windsor, Canada via the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. Additionally, Detroit offers easy access to six Interstates and a variety of intermodal options.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport, which handles over 700 million pounds of cargo annually, is a 30 minute drive from downtown. Norfolk Southern, CSK, and Canadian Pacific all have intermodal rail terminals in the region, and the Port of Detroit's cargo terminal has easy access to Interstates.

The DEGC is able to offer a variety of services including customized site selection, tax waivers and abatements, financing, and workforce recruitment and training.
