LINC Opens Logistics Center

In 2015, LINC, part of the Moroun-owned Universal Truckload Services, announced plans to open a new $30 million, 500,000-square-foot logistics center on Detroit’s east side, bringing 150 new jobs to the area. The facility will be located at the I-94 industrial park, next to Flex-N-Gate. Financed and built by the Moroun family’s Crown Enterprises, the facility’s jobs will pay $10 to $10.50 an hour with paid vacation, health care and retirement. DEGC awarded a tax abatement to LINC in September 2016 and the Detroit Employment Solutions Corp. is working with LINC to ensure the company can meet its employment targets.

“As an employer with a long history and involvement with the city of Detroit, we have set a minimum target of 51 percent of these jobs going to Detroiters, but eventually we’d like to see all of these jobs held by Detroit residents,” Jeff Rogers, CEO of Universal Truckload Services, said in the statement.
